Included - no hidden extras - return scheduled flights from London Gatwick to and from Spain, seven nights accommodation, all meals from dinner on Day One to breakfast on Day Eight, transportation within Spain, reserve entrance fees, local taxes, gratuities and the services of Shetland Wildlife staff naturalists.
Not-Included - soft drinks (other than those served with lunches & tea/coffee at dinner), alcoholic beverages, telephone calls, laundry, items of a personal nature, etc.
Accommodation - we stay at Casa Rural El Recuerdo, a beautiful hotel situated on the outskirts of Trujillo which is owned and operated by our good friend Martin Kelsey - one of Extremdura's top birders! All rooms are en suite with central heating.
Food - filling breakfasts, tasty picnic/indoor lunches and delicious three-course evening meals using local produce where possible. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diets are all catered for - but please let us know when you book.
Meeting Point - London Gatwick Airport. Should you wish to fly to Madrid from another regional airport please contact our office for details.
Outdoor Activities - gentle daily walks, up to two miles following trails and footpaths.
Photographic Opportunities - although not a dedicated photography trip it must be said that this holiday offers very good photographic opportunities. For those that wish to bring a camera we recommend a variety of focal length lenses ranging from 28mm up to 500mm or a digital bridge camera / compact with similar focal length capabilities. Bring plenty of memory cards (or bring a download / storage device) and also remember spare batteries and a charger.
Weather - expect comfortable temperatures up to 20º Celsius during the day. Mornings and evenings can be considerably cooler.
Transportation - by air-conditioned minibus, driven by your guides, meeting the latest safety standards and regulations.
Insects - should not be a problem but it may well be worth bringing repellent - just in case!
Recording - checklists will be provided. Feel free to make complimentary use of our telescopes, onboard natural history library and selection of sound recordings.
